Compatibility and help

Device connection

esptool-js detects the chip automatically. If connection fails, hold BOOT, press RESET, then release BOOT. The device application stops in download mode. Disconnect and reset when finished.

Data formats

Supports NVS v1/v2, integers, UTF-8 strings and chunked blobs. 64-bit integers retain their full precision. Encrypted, corrupted or unrecognized data cannot be edited.

Write to device

Read NVS from the device, make your changes and download a backup. The original data is checked before writing, and the written bytes are read back for verification. Keep the device powered throughout.

Runs in your browser

No ESP-IDF installation needed. The first operation downloads Pyodide and cryptography, which may take a moment. A local Python worker runs Espressif’s generator and parser. Partition data is never uploaded.

Write to this NVS partition?

This will replace the data in this device partition. Keep the device powered until writing and verification finish.
